The Meinl 16" Generation X Filter China cymbal is such a unique instrument that it created an immediate "You've got to check this out" buzz when it made its debut at Sweetwater. The effect is a striking combination of splash-cymbal-like cut and fast decay with the distinctly trashy depth you'd expect from any China cymbal. The waved edge ensures virtually no sustain, so you never have to worry about buildup, even if you wail away on the Generation X Filter China. And despite its relatively low volume and deep pitch, the attack of this cymbal's FX9 alloy is bright enough to penetrate through serious stage volume.
This cymbal, designed by Meinl in cooperation with Thomas Lang, With a fast, sharp and sinister edge, these Meinl Filter chinas explode and then move out of the way for whatever lick might come next. They are quieter than most china cymbals, and have a short sustain due to the waved edge.
Meinl's Generation X Series offers a full range of special effect sounds previously not available. Years of input have led to the FX9 alloy and the unique shapes and configurations. Fast, explosive attack with quick decay make Gen X cymbals fit where other cymbals won't. Add a crazy new tone color to your setup today.
