Keep it simple with an Alesis Q88 controller keyboard. The Q88 sports a clean layout. Not overloaded with pads, knobs, and sliders, it has the essentials: pitch and mod wheels, a volume/data entry slider, a MIDI/select button, Octave up/down buttons, a sustain pedal input, and traditional MIDI Out for controlling external hardware. With no complicated setups and controls you'll never use, the Q88 is also easy to operate. It's even USB bus-powered, eliminating the need for a power supply. Sometimes less is more.
